Is Counselling for me?

 

Only you can decide if Counselling or Psychotherapy are for you.  Also known as talking therapy, counselling offers you a safe place where you will be heard; where you will be met with kindness and compassion; and supported when you need it most; as well as

a space where you are able to drop the exhausting pretense of  being "ok", and you can consider what it's really like being you with the emotions and feelings you are experiencing.  You will also be offered a safe and confidential space to think about what it is you want out of life as well as uninterrupted time, once a week, to explore your situation; where you can look at the overwhelm, and break it down into baby steps if needs be, releasing the pressure a bit at a time.  When you take the opportunity to really look beneath the surface and explore your feelings and emotions, it can be a tremendous relief!  Just being able to be yourself, with no filters and no frills!  And, who knows, you may even find some self-compassion as you seek to live more fully and authentically, moving forward in your life.

How many sessions will I need?

 

 

The number of sessions  required can vary greatly from person to person.  I am open to working both short term (normally 6-10 sessions), or longer term in an open ended way, depending on what you feel you may need.  A session will typically last for 50 minutes, and take place once per week.  I will keep track of time during each session so it is one less thing for you to worry about.  I will also give a quick reminder when there is 10 minutes left in the session, in order to have some time to reflect on the session, make your next appointment and to prepare you for moving on with your day.

How much should I expect to pay for Counselling?:

 

The fee for each session is £55.00, payable 24 hours in advance to secure the appointment.  You can be paid via cash if face to face; or by bank transfer, credit or debit card for online and telephone sessions.
